We can easily say that Activision Blizzard reigns supreme when it comes to video game sales. With the recent acquisition of King, creators of Candy Crush, they already have a presence in practically every existing format in the industry. Now, the news that Call of Duty: Black Ops III was the best-selling game in the United States during 2015 adds another success that has to do with the same series.

According to franchise general manager Rob Kostich, it has managed to sell more than 250 million units around the world in its history. This has been thanks to the records that each delivery breaks, always positioning itself as the leader in the sales charts of the North American country.

According to Kostich, Activision is already gearing up for what’s to come in 2016, referring to the next big installment in the series from Infinity Ward. With three studios involved in developing games for the franchise in three-year cycles, the quality is almost certain to only go up.

With this, Call of Duty continues to compete with great industry giants such as Grand Theft Auto with more than 220 million units sold, or the unbeatable Mario whose games have managed to sell more than 520 million units.
