We almost always talk about the proposals of the leading brands in the sector: Samsung, LG, Sony, Apple, and so on. But there are brands, perhaps not so popular, but with very good proposals too. And original. Something that you will surely value if you prefer to have a less seen but equally powerful smartphone. In this case, the proposal we present to you is the one made by ASUS: the ASUS Zenfone 2.
The ASUS Zenfone 2 is a mid-range terminal with a very affordable price
The ASUS Zenfone 2 is a high-mid-range mobile with a fairly affordable price, in fact, its starting sale price is approximately 200 euros. As for its technical specifications, it is a terminal that is, broadly speaking, quite complete.
It has a 5.5 inch IPS screen with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Its pixel density is at 403 ppi. Some data that, as a whole, is quite attractive to us.
The back of the ASUS Zenfone 2’s design is quite similar to that of the LG G3 with the case slightly ridged from side to side. The colors in which it is available are black, light gray, white, gold and red. The operating system options are displayed by touch keys at the bottom of the terminal. The physical buttons, like the LG G3, are located on the back.
Its weight is 170 gramsNot what most catches our attention, of course, especially because of our particular taste for terminals that weigh less than 145 grams. However, it is not that the measurements of the ASUS Zenfone 2 are very uncomfortable. Its compact size makes it easy to handle even when its weight is not the lightest.
Two cameras with enough appeal
The ASUS Zenfone 2 integrates two cameras that seem quite optimal given the price of the terminal. The most advanced terminals currently barely stay at 16 megapixels and there are very few who reach this mark. Most high-end terminals maintain a 13 megapixel main camera as does this device from ASUS.
Its main camera also has a double LED Flash and an f / 2.0 aperture, among many other interesting features that are worth discovering calmly. The secondary camera has 5 megapixels and the same aperture. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about her is that You can capture wide angles to ensure good quality self-profile photos.
As for its multimedia aspect, the ASUS Zenfone 2 plays everything, referring to the most popular formats, but it does not have FM Radio.
A completely different processor
Until now we have been able to see and test many processor models from Qualcomm and many others from MediaTek but the ASUS Zenfone 2 has an exclusive Intel Atom Z3580 processor quad-core with 64-bit technology and with a working capacity of 2.3 GHz. The RAM memory will depend on the version chosen: there will be a version with 2 GB of RAM and another with 4 GB. In either case, the memory is an LPDDR3.
Now we talk about its internal storage capacity and we must emphasize that it will also depend on the version. ASUS Zenfone 2 will be available in a 16, 32 and 64 GB version, the first two versions with the ability to expand this base memory via MicroSD up to 64 GB. Apart from this the company also ensures that this phone has a 5GB free cloud space via Asus WebStorage which is already an added advantage.
More features, more quality and less price
Regarding its operating system, ASUS Zenfone 2 integrates the version Android Lollipop 5.0 To which is added, in addition, a layer of personalization of the brand called ASUS ZenUI that includes some very interesting features.
The connectivity section of the ASUS Zenfone 2 is very complete: support for 4G LTE in its Cat 4 variant, 3G, WiFi, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, WiFI Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. We can also acquire the terminal with the capacity to carry two MicroSIM cards at the same time.
The battery offers quite a long autonomy thanks to its 3,000 mAh. The terminal also has an ultra-fast charging function with which we can charge the device’s battery up to 60% in just 39 minutes.
These are all the features that the ASUS Zenfone 2 makes available to us for a price of around 200 euros. How about? It seems to us a quite original and very complete terminal that offers practically everything at a fairly affordable price. And all backed by a brand that has been in the market for years making high-quality electronic products. Undoubtedly a very interesting option to get out of the Samsung – Sony – LG – Apple circle.
