Since the collaboration between Nintendo And Bethesda many Kyoto house fans are still celebrating. This collaboration was certainly not an easy thing to implement, considering the fact that on the old Nintendo consoles, there was not even a title from the software house. But to make us understand even more deeply, what were the reasons behind this change of direction we thought Pete Hines, from Pax Australia.
Hines, was keen to say that there was absolutely no rancor between the two companies, but more simply the titles of the software house did not fit the hardware produced by Nintendo:
“The technical specifications of the hardware have always been our biggest difficulty with Nintendo. It’s not that we didn’t like consoles like the Wii, it’s just that we develop certain products and publish them on all those devices that are capable of running them. So, looking at the Switch’s technical specifications, we started thinking about games like Skyrim, Doom And Wolfenstein and we have been fortunate to have very talented developers excited to bring these games to the console, but also a partner like Panic Button, able to take our games and say ‘Yes, we can turn them on Switch ‘”.
To play the charge also explained Hines, was the id Tech 6 graphics engine, already used by Bethesda when the technical characteristics of the Nintendo Switch were announced. For this reason, titles like Doom they were programmed already thinking also about the power of Nintendo Switch.
