ATTENTION: we remind you that this is a Bloodborne bossfight, and consequently it can contain SPOILERS on the plot, so we invite you to continue reading the guide only if you have already finished the game or if you know the boss.
How to defeat Gehrman the First Hunter in Bloodborne? Here is the guide
Gehrman the First Hunter he can be either the last or the penultimate boss in Bloodborne, as it depends on what you did before going through the gate leading to him. In fact, if you use the three umbilical cords, which you can find throughout the game, Gehrman will be the penultimate and will be followed by the “true boss”.
Before you you will have a being who, from his name, already makes you understand that his attack system will be very similar to yours. It also has an attack and movement speed that can put you in serious trouble. Gerhman fights with one sickle which inflicts a lot of damage and the clash will be all about speed.
When you start the fight, stand up for defense and wait for Gehrman to finish his attack. Then, start hitting him, if you get the chance, using your firearm to stun him and hit him again.
There are many ways to deal with it, but it all depends on the validity of your weapons. Using a quick one, you can also go on the offensive when the enemy’s guard opens. This is a good tactic that allows you to inflict a few hits, but always pay attention to his charged attack.
If you have a good firearm, study the signs that will tell you when the boss is about to charge. Gehrman will lower himself charging the shot, then will shoot very quickly covering a lot of distance. If you manage to hit him while sprinting, you’ll stun him and can deal a critical hit. The stagger, in general, is the best way to do the most damage to him in a short time.
It is also possible to hit him at the end of his combo, but the boss will often dodge, so wait for him to do so, then approach to dodge and finally hit him.
You will have enough time to unleash three or four attacks, but then quickly get back on the defensive, as Gehrman will often hit you, even if you are also hitting him at the same time. You will have to pay close attention to the attack charged with the scythe because it will take away a lot of life points and make you fall to the ground.
About halfway through the fight, the boss will eat a Beast Blood Tablet, which will boost him with other attacks, albeit not by much. His fighting technique is repetitive, so you just have to understand his moves, but try to keep some distance because his combos and range are not to be underestimated.
After defeating Gehrman, you will witness the second ending or (again in case of using the cords) you will have to face the actual last boss, the Presence of the Moon.
