According to the latest statements by Pete Hinesvice president of global marketing and communications at Bethesda, Fallout 76 will not be released for Nintendo Switch consoles.

Hines specified that the software house has always considered porting their titles to Nintendo Switch, but that this can only happen if certain criteria are met. He adds that each team has freedom of choice when it comes to their works, and that this concept can also move across supported consoles. These are the words of the vice president:

Switch is a topic of discussion with any developer we interface with at the moment, because we believe it is a viable platform. If a game works, we want it to arrive on every possible platform. Fallout 76 won’t be out because it’s just not feasible

Honestly, there isn’t even a game in development that hasn’t talked about a Switch conversion. Does it work on Switch? Do you have a plan for Switch? There is no obligation, everything we do has to be led by developers, and it is something we want people to consider.

I love that we are seen as the third party leaders when it comes to Nintendo Switch support. People find that we have a lot more material on Switch than other publishers. That’s what I want Bethesda to be recognized for. We will take risks.

It will therefore not be the case with Fallout76, but Bethesda still plans to publish on the Switch, as it has done so far. In fact we will see in the new year titles like The Elder Scrolls Legends And DOOM Eternal.
