A 26-year-old boy of Indian descent was recently hospitalized for “Netflix addiction” at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, in the city of Bangalore. He used to watch over 7 hours of visual content every day and has recognized himself as addicted to Binge Watching. This condition would be to be found in the loss of work by the man who has thus fallen into a period of depression. According to Manoj Kumar Sharma, expert at the Service for Healthy Use of Technology clinic, the man would have taken refuge in the world of TV series to isolate himself from his surroundings. The user started watching his favorite programs as soon as he woke up and this led him to have eye problems, fatigue and insomnia. Right now the man is followed by some experts who are helping him to get out of the addiction.
