Nintendo does not stop efforts towards the launch of NX
Yes, 2015 was an important year for Nintendo due to its announcements and plans. 2016 will be twice as important as it will be the moment when these announcements materialize in some way. We know that spring will come miitomo but the subject of the NX is clearly the subject of speculation. Some of which, the president of the company, Tatsumi Kimishima, has been clarifying over the days.
In his talk with investors, Kimishima assured that Nintendo has not stopped efforts at the time of continuing with “the development and planning of the NX in preparation for its launch”. Of course, the CEO of the company did not detail this point too much, but we are aware that the official announcement will take place this year, with E3 being an ideal date.
“Both this and the previous fiscal rooms are nothing but a preparation period to launch a number of new endeavors, such as NX development, mobile development and businesses that will use our IP, in addition to existing businesses on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.”
“At the same time, it has been our priority to take a deeper look at areas of our existing businesses where revenues and expenses have become unbalanced, to ensure we correct their balance. As I have said on other occasions, we will be launching many of our new business activities as we move from the current fiscal year to the next”.
“When you start a new business, it is important to make the public aware of what you will be doing. In the next fiscal quarter we will have to make preparations and investments to achieve these goals, and that comes with certain efforts”.
“The question was to choose an area where we could make Nintendo-like profits, but I would love to suggest two areas. One of them is ours. NX business and one is ours business for smart devices. I believe that staying on track in these two endeavors is key code to achieve Nintendo-like profits. I don’t have any more details to share about the next fiscal quarter at this time, but we will explain our plan and when we look to make our gains going forward.”
How do you see the future of Nintendo with the two areas that Kimishima mentions?
