Sony Interactive Entertainment through the pages of its official blog dedicated to PlayStation, announced today that a feature will soon be launched in beta version that will allow change your ID linked to the PlayStation Network.
During the preview, you will be able to change your online ID as often as you like. The first modification is free while subsequent modifications will cost € 9.99. For PlayStation Plus members, after the first change the cost will be € 4.99. Changes to the online ID can be made via the Settings menu or the Profile page of your PS4. “
When you change your online ID, you will have the option to view your old ID with your new ID so that your friends can recognize you. Once you decide to view your old ID (or not to view it), you will not be able to change it after completing the online ID change process.
The function is compatible with PS4 games originally released after April 1, 2018 and a large majority of the most played PS4 games that were released before this date. However, note that not all games and applications for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita systems are guaranteed to support online ID change, and users may occasionally experience problems or errors with certain games.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has finally specified that, in case of problems, you will be able to reset your PSN ID for free. There Beta version of this functionality will debut at November. In 2019, within the first 3 months of the new year, the PlayStation Newtork ID change should be available in a final version.
