Resident Evil Village between PS4 and PS5, the new demo compared in a video
A video compares the performance of the new Resident Evil Village castle demo on PS4 and PS5: the result will surprise you.
There are now less than two weeks before the release of Resident Evil Village, with anticipation for the next chapter of the quintessential survival horror franchise growing day by day. As expected, Capcom released another playable demo of Resident Evil Village, which offers players a limited time of 30 minutes to explore the location of Lady Dimitrescu’s castle.
Since the “Castle Demo” is available for both PlayStation 4 users than for those PlayStation 5, some players were able to compare the performance of each version, and unsurprisingly, the differences were enormous. In a video made on the channel YouTube of the user ElAnalistaDeBits, an in-depth technical analysis of the Resident Evil Village castle demo was performed on PS4 and PS5.
As expected, the game worked much faster on the next-gen console, with the demo that it only takes 3 seconds to load on PS5. In comparison, the demo took 30 seconds to charge both on PS4 than on PS4 Pro, proving that the PlayStation 5 could load the demo 10 times faster than old-gen machines. Additionally, many of the PS5’s other features, such as 3D audio, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers, have been well integrated into the game.
In addition to faster performance, the PS5 version of the demo also highlighted the functionalities of ray-tracing. This is highlighted by the well-reflected and well-lit environment on PlayStation 5 compared to the lower resolution displayed by both PS4 and PS4 Pro. Obviously, the faster performance and better visuals will provide gamers another level of immersion which will increase the fear factor of Resident Evil Village on Next-gen.
Resident Evil Village will come out on May 7, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. It is now very short, therefore, to finally escape from the castle and explore the entire game map: with these two demos Resident Evil Village has fully convinced us, and we can’t wait to try the full game.
