The president of Nintendo , Shuntaro Furukawa , recently attended a Q&A session. One of the many questions asked of Mr. Furukawa was why we have seen some high profile AAA games not make it to Nintendo Switch, despite the huge success of the console. Here is the president’s response:
It is extremely important to give our customers the widest selection of software on our platforms. It is for this reason that we wanted different titles from different publishers. But despite this, I don’t think it’s realistic to believe that every major third-party title can make it to Switch. We talked to each publisher about the possibility of bringing their games to our console, especially the ones that would fit us perfectly for the unique features it has and for its portability. Despite the important support publishers give to Switch, I expect the number of titles they publish with us to increase. This is the right direction to take.
