Smartphones can serve as a key for your car

These digital keys will replace the ones that currently exist.

The Car Connectivity Consortium in Argentina announced last Thursday the digital key standard that will allow you to use your smartphone to open the car doors.

This standard is open to all members of the consortium: 75 companies from the automotive and technological world, including Apple, LG, Samsung, General Motors, Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Bosch, Qualcomm, Pioneer, among others.

Version 1.0 of this digital key allows you to use a compatible cell phone or device to open the car doors, lock them, start the engine, or allow others access to the vehicle.
