Over the last few hours Netflix announced that his new film Someone save Christmasproduced by Chris Columbus (Mom, I Missed the Plane, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone) and directed by Clay Kaytis (Angry Birds – The film) will be available on the streaming platform starting November 22, 2018. The famous company has also released a trailer to announce everything that you can see above.
The film tells the story of Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis), a brother and sister who, when Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) arrives on Christmas Eve, want to take a picture of him. However, their plan turns into an unexpected journey that many children could only dream of. After secretly watching Santa and seeing him coming, they hide in his sleigh, causing an accident that threatens to ruin Christmas. Over the course of an adventurous night, Kate and Teddy work with Santa – as no one has ever seen before – and his faithful elves to save Christmas before it’s too late.
Director Clay Kaytis said:
“No one better than Kurt Russell could have brought our version of Santa Claus to life, so rude, charismatic and funny. From the very first meeting, he has perfectly placed himself in this iconic role, even growing an impressive beard during filming. Working with Kurt has been a dream come true, together we have created what I think will become the new image of Santa Claus for the next generations ”.
According to producer Chris Columbus:
“Kurt is the perfect Santa Claus. Charismatic, with a biting sense of humor when needed. We are thrilled because audiences will see his incredible performance on screen and we hope Somebody Save Christmas becomes a timeless classic. “
