The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console of November in the United States

It seems that nothing can stop Nintendo. Although in November we saw the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, The Switch was the best-selling console in the United States in the last month, thus setting a record in consecutive sales in this country.

According to Nintendo, The Switch sold 1.35 million units during November 2020, positioning it as the best-selling console in the United States for 24 consecutive months. In this way, in just 11 months 6.92 million new users have bought a normal Switch or a Switch Lite, 426 thousand more than in all of 2019.

Here’s what Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, had to say about it:

“We continue to see unprecedented demand for the Nintendo Switch, and we are pleased that people of all ages and gaming skill levels are enjoying the Nintendo Switch this holiday season and into the future.”

Although Nintendo continues to face unit shortage issues, in November we saw the launch of two special packages, one for Fortnite and the other for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, something that surely boosted the sales of the console.

As for the new consoles, neither Sony nor Microsoft have shared the number of units sold during their first month in the United States, but it seems that they were not as good as those of Nintendo Switch. On related topics, the Switch was China’s best-selling console in 2020.
