“The problem with technology is that it is used by human beings”: Diego Camargo
La Nube’s guest is Diego Camargo, a social communicator with postgraduate degrees in film, television and digital media in Cuba, Spain and Argentina, who is currently…
lives by comedy.
Diego was the creator of ‘Alone with the world’, a project where he lived off the internet for eight days, locked in a hotel room and with a computer as the only tool. Diego ate, read, juice and interacted, while two cameras watched him 24 hours a day.
The experiment carried out in August 1998 obtained 800,000 visits, breaking a record for a Colombian website at that time.
“Finally, the suffering has come to an end, after 8 days locked up, away from all contact and media other than the Internet, I can say that I have lived. Now, the city has a different flavor, it has the mystery of the unknown, it is like walking through an unknown city, going through forgotten places and re-perceiving the street, the dirt, the people”, were the statements given by Diego once finished the experiment.
