Netflix showed a first teaser of The Witcher season 2. Additionally, The WitcherCon was announced, taking place on July 9th.

Netflix has recently released, on the occasion of Geeked Week (which began last June 7, 2021 and will end today) the long-awaited trailer of the season 2 of The Witcher.

During the panel A very short clip of the second season was shown, which allowed us to take a closer look at some of the events that will characterize Ciri’s future on the show.

Unfortunately, the Netflix Geekend Week has not revealed further details on the show, which still remains without not only an official release date. Announcement that will most likely take place on the occasion of the The WitcherCon recently announced by the streaming giant, event to be held in collaboration with CD Projekt RED on 9 July 2021.

In addition to the return of Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia, of Anya Chalotra in those of Yennefer e Freya Allan (Ciri), will see the addition of many new characters, including Kim Bodnia as Vesemir.

For the uninitiated, in recent months the streaming giant has also released the official synopsis of season 2 of The Witcher. Geralt, convinced of Yennefer’s death, takes Ciri to the safest place he knows, his childhood home (Kaer Morhen).

As kings, elves, humans and demons of the Continent fight for supremacy outside the walls, the beloved witcher is tasked with protecting the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power that lurks within.

Waiting to find out more details on the production, still without an official release date, we point out that Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will be the showrunner and executive producer of the season 2 of The Witcher together with Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Mike Ostrowski, Steve Gaub and Jarosław Sawko.

The show will be directed by Stephen Surjik (The Umbrella Academy), Sarah O’Gorman (Cursed), Ed Bazalgette (The Last Kingdom) and Louise Hooper (Cheat). If you want to know more, at the following link you can find the review complete with first season.
