Why does the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake look so bad? Ubisoft explains
During the Ubisoft Forward yesterday a rumor that had time was finally confirmed: we will have a remake of Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time. What surprised everyone was not the game itself, but rather the graphics they showed for the title, which do not correspond to a game that will be released in 2021, much less for current consoles.
The Mako Reactor questioned Ubisoft India for this issue, to which the subsidiary replied:
“We decided to go for a unique visual treatment to make this game stand out from others. It’s not another Assassin’s Creed, it’s not like the same Prince Of Persia from 2008. It has to be unique. This magic, this fantasy is shown through saturation, through light, so it’s also a challenge to redefine the visual identity of the game with this remake.”
Syed Abbas, deputy general manager of Ubisoft Indiaalso mentioned in the interview that they had no problem with the budget of the game and that they have been working on it for two and a half years.
We hope that over time the visual aspect of this remake will improve a little, which left much to be desired in its presentation, although it is best to keep our expectations afloat.
Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time Remake will premiere in PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 21, 2021.
