Over the past few days, rumors have emerged about a major announcement by Xbox during The Game Awards today. Although the company has not mentioned something specifically, they have invited the public to tune in to the awards, something that has raised a couple of suspicions about their participation in the awards. Nevertheless, one of Xbox’s most recognizable members has asked fans to lower their expectations tonight.
Aaron Greenberg, Xbox’s chief marketing officer, commented on Twitter yesterday that The company’s fans shouldn’t be disappointed if they don’t get the announcement they have been waiting for during The Game Awards.. This was what he commented:
“You will see us and our personal accounts inviting them to tune in to The Game Awards. We hope you support the industry and tune in to the award. While we have a couple of moments prepared for the show, I would lower my expectations because of the speculation that I am seeing. Especially considering what we did last year! “
You will see us & our social handles promoting tune-in for @thegameawards tomorrow. We hope you support the industry & watch. While we have a couple moments in the show, I would dial expectations way down versus speculation I am seeing, especially how big we went last year!

Greenberg is referencing the Series X reveal last year. In this way, it is very likely to see a trailer or reveal of the hand of Xbox, but surely there are no plans to give a large-scale announcement, like a new console. However, some rumors suggest that The Initiative’s secret project will finally be revealed.
Remember that The Game Awards 2020 will take place today at 6:00 PM (Mexico City time), and here you can see the event live.
