Xbox Series X and S: Here are some of the old console concepts
We know the Xbox Series X and S by now, but what was the path to finding the design? These photo proofs show it to us.
About 40 days now separate us from the arrival of Xbox Series X And Xbox Series S on the international market, and while we eagerly await to enter this new generation, a photo has appeared on the internet showing many different Xbox prototypes. In fact, if the shapes we know by now are well known – especially due to the complaints made by the network about the black monolith and about what many jokingly define as a large bluetooth speaker – in reality, Microsoft’s idea took a while to arrive.
From the shapes that we can see, some of these models are very similar to the previous one Xbox One X, while others propose “larger” versions of the current Series S (as if to highlight that even the Series X, in principle, had a similar shape to its younger sister). For the rest, at least the idea of making it “squared” was already decided from the beginning (as it stands out from these drafts).
The Senior Design Director Nicolas Denhez he explained that Microsoft, to get to the definitive design of the console, even visited many gaming houses to understand where they allocated their console, so as to take every single detail into consideration to churn out the new platforms. The goal has always been to produce two consoles that could integrate into the environment, without capturing the attention or diverting from the rest of the furniture.
