Apple’s touch screen patents could be associated with commercial and industrial applications

On February 2, the United States Patent Office revealed Apple patent number 20060022956, which deals with touch technology that will be applied to devices such as the Tablet, iPod, mobile phones, PDAs and other consumer electronics products.

The patent presents applications such as the iTunes music store, the virtual keyboard, or the zoom effect, and defines Touch Images as the representation of the positioning of the user’s fingers on the screen at all times. Thus, the same gesture can mean different actions depending on the application being used at any given time: the same gesture can be an increase in the audio volume if you are using a multimedia player or the rotation of a three-dimensional image if you are using a design program.
