Astlinux, the telephone switchboard distribution

Astlinux 0.3.0 is an interesting Linux distribution specially adapted to Asterisk that transforms our computer into a powerful IP telephone switchboard.

Despite being specially adapted to Asterisk, it can be easily configured to adapt to almost any situation. There are currently two versions, one for SBC’s SC1100 series, including those from Soekris Engineering and PC Engines; and another that works on any standard PC. AstLinux has been designed to be used with Flash memory. However, it can also be installed on a hard drive.

AstLinux is a super lightweight distribution, so it is ideal for running on USB sticks, although it can also be installed on a computer.
