Broadcom announces its solutions for WiFi 7 with speeds of up to 11.5 Gbps

We already learned about some WiFi 7 solutions from Qualcomm and Mediatek last MWC 2022 in Barcelona. Now Broadcom joins the new WiFi 7 presenting its complete solution for next generation wireless networks. The solutions presented are optimized for routers and access points at home and in business. Thanks to WiFi 7 you can achieve double the speed of WiFi 6E with the new 320 MHz channels suitable for improving coverage and maintaining maximum speeds offered by home internet connections.

The solutions presented are:

  • BCM67263 optimized for home access points with support for 4 streams of WiFi 7 and with a single 6 GHz band that will offer up to 11.5 Gbps.
  • BCM6726 also optimized for home access points and with support for 4 streams of Wifi 7, but with 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands it offers up to 5.75 Gbps.
  • BCM43740 for businesses and includes support for 4 stream WiFi 7 and 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. In this model the maximum speed is 11.5 Gbps and bands up to 320 MHz.
  • BCM43720 also for companies and with support for 2 stream WiFi 7 also with 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. This model reaches up to 2.88 Gbps and bands up to 160 MHz.
  • BCM4398 designed for mobile phones includes 2 stream WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5. Thanks to its 320 MHz bandwidth you can reach speeds of up to 6.05 Gbps.

Currently Broadcom are already trying these solutions among its collaborating companies, but has not provided an approximate date of when they may be available.
