Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher could have mobile games made by third parties says CDPR

The worlds of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher, so beloved by players, could make the leap to mobile devices in the not too distant future, but not from the hand of CD Projekt Red, the creators of the original games.

The news emerged during a Q&A session with CD Projekt CEO Michał Nowakowski, who mentioned that the company is open to the idea of other studios developing mobile games based on its franchises.

However, nothing is confirmed yet and no details can be shared at the moment.

It should be noted that The Witcher mobile games already existed, such as Gwent: The Witcher Card Game (discontinued in 2023) and The Witcher: Monster Slayer (closed in 2023).

However, the current panorama is different. Technology has advanced by leaps and bounds and today’s mobile devices are much more powerful than a few years ago, which opens the door to more complex and in-depth mobile games.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red is working on several projects, including a new The Witcher game (first installment of a new trilogy) with a team of more than 400 people, in addition to supporting Cyberpunk 2077 and working on a sequel with codenamed “Project Orion.”
