Don’t worry; Uploading your first video to YouTube is not as difficult as you might think. The following guide will walk you through everything you need to know about how you can easily upload a video to your YouTube account.

Downloading YouTube to Desktop

To get started, make sure you are logged into the account you want to upload the video to. Click the camera icon to the right of the search bar and click Upload Video.

In the next section, you will need to select the video you want to download. Click the up arrow and your files window will appear. The video privacy will automatically be set to public. If you want to make a video private in the future, be sure to change it.

The public and private options are self-explanatory, but the unlisted option means your video will not appear in search results. Users will only see the video if they navigate to your channel or click on a direct link. The scheduled option means that your video will not be published immediately, your video will be published at the time of setup.

Manage your YouTube video

The upload process will only take a few seconds, and when your video is ready to be managed, you will see a blue line with the words Processing Complete.

In the Basic Info tab, you’ll need to give your video a name, description, and tags that will help YouTubers find the video. If you want your video to be translated into another language, click the Translations tab. Select the Original Language tab and select the original language of your video and the language you want to translate the video to.

In the Advanced Settings tab, you can choose between different options. You can allow or disable comments, choose a category, allow embeds, age restriction, subtitle certification, content declaration, syndication, 3D video, and licensing and ownership rights.

With the Basic Info tab, it’s time to choose a thumbnail for your video. You will only be able to choose between the three thumbnails that YouTube will show at the bottom of this tab. Once you’ve chosen your favorite thumbnail, click the blue Done button at the top.

His video is now officially on YouTube. If you want to make any changes, click on your profile photo and choose the Creator Studio option. Creator Studio will allow you to see your video analytics. To make changes to your videos, click on the Video Manager option which will also be in Creator Studio.

Download video from iOS

Downloading a video is also an easy task for iOS users. Open YouTube and tap the camera icon at the top. You can download a video you already have in your camera roll or record a new one. If you decide to record a new video, you’ll need to allow YouTube to access your device’s camera in settings.

Once you’ve chosen your video, it’s time to crop it, add filters, or add some music. When your video is ready, tap the blue Next option at the top right.

The next window will give you options like adding a title to your video, making it public/unlisted/private, and you can also add a location. Don’t forget to add a title to your video too. When you have filled out this information, tap the download option at the top right and you are good to go.

Download video from Android

To download a YouTube video to your Android device, tap the camera icon at the top. For first-time access, you’ll need to allow YouTube to access your files, unless you want to go live or record a new video (YouTube will need permission on your camera).

Just like other platforms, you will need to add the necessary details to your video. You can add information like title, description, privacy and you can add your location. When you’re ready to upload your video, tap the blue submit arrow.

Once you have uploaded your video, it will appear in the list of videos. Tap the three dots and tap one of the options it offers, such as save to watch later, save to playlist, delete, edit, and share.
