I like Instagram a lot. With it you can easily share images and videos with your friends. The fact that you can share this stuff on this platform isn’t even the best thing. The best thing is the fact that some people do very creative and fun things in 15 second video form. And believe me, there is no shortage of videos being made. You might be scrolling through your feed one day and thinking, “I wish I could download this.” Or you may have created a new Instagram account and are interested in backing up all your videos. Well you can!
Download video one at a time
To download a video from Instagram, you will first need its URL. Go to the Instagram profile where the video is located and copy it to your clipboard. Once you have the Instagram video URL, head to this website. Once on the website, paste the Instagram video link into the Video URL box on the page. Doing so will generate a file that will begin downloading automatically.
Note– If you want the video you want to download sent to your email, please enter your email in the email box on the page.
Download automatically with “If This Then That”
Are you interested in downloading more than one Instagram video? If so, head to ifttt.com and create an account (if you don’t already have one). Once you have created your account, click the “My Recipes” button at the top of the page. Click the “Create a Recipe” button to get started.
When you click the “Create a Recipe” button, you will be prompted to choose “This” (aka a trigger channel). Click the blue “This” button and search for Instagram in the search box.
If you choose Instagram as the activation channel, several commands will appear for you to choose from. Find and click on the “Like a video” option. With the option selected, shortly after you will be prompted to create the trigger. Do it by clicking on the button that appears.
With the activation channel configured, IFTTT will present you with a clickable “It” button. Click on it and search for Google Drive in the search box.
Selecting Google Drive as your action channel will reveal several actions to choose from. Find and select “Load from URL”.
Your newly selected action channel needs to be confirmed. You will see some text boxes that you can change if you want. Although it is not necessary to change them. Simply click the blue “Create Action” button to continue.
Both the trigger and the action have been configured and configured and are ready to go. Now all that’s left is to click on the Create Recipe button to activate it.
From now on, every time you like a video on Instagram, IFTTT will come out, download it, and save it to your Google Drive account. If you decide you don’t like this recipe, simply go to the “My Recipes” section in IFTTT and delete the video download recipe.
Note– It is possible to follow the same steps and send your videos to Dropbox instead of Google Drive. Simply choose Dropbox as your action channel instead of Google Drive in the setup process.
Social networks and short video clips go very well together. It just so happens that in the world of social media, Instagram is one of the best ways to share these short video clips. I hope that with this guide you will find even more ways to share a short fifteen-second video clip online. Enjoy!
