Intel plans to return to HEDT processors with Alder Lake-X

It seems that Intel intends to return to the high-performance desktop processor market HEDT with Intel Alder Lake-X. As we can see in the notes of the Beta version of AIDA64 6.60.5944, support is introduced for these Intel Alder Lake-X processors, a nomenclature that Intel has used on previous occasions for this type of processors, for example, with the Cascade Lake- X which was the last generation of this type.

It is thought that these new Alder Lake-X are a microarchitecture of the Intel Sapphire Rapids. The difference will be in the high performance cores that integrate these new processors, while the desktop Alder Lake have high-performance cores capable of running higher clock speedsthe cores of high-performance processors have specific characteristics for networking along with a Higher L2 cache and a tighter TDP to qualify for a higher number of cores.

If so, Intel can stand up to the new AMD Threadripper Pro 5000 Series, CPUs that are expected with configurations of up to 64 cores. We can only wait for new information that can shed more light on this new Intel Alder Lake-X variant.
